Interview with Special Features: “I have been making music since the age of 12“

Outstanding talent and great humility: a not so common binomial. Except for significant rarities, like Eden Arderson, as known as Special Features, one of the rising stars of UK-based dance music. His sonic works (remixes and bootleg) are travelling around the world, gaining an high applause by the audience.
OUTsiders, on the 1st of December, got in touch with him.

• Who is Eden Anderson, aka Special Features?  

  I’m a 20 year old progressive and electro house producer from london, England!

• How did you come to music (house music in particular)?

  I have been making music since the age of 12, and I was introduced to house music 2 years ago and started making house music at the beginning of 2011.

I knew that remixing the track would be risky, but I’ve wanted to do it for a long time, and felt it was time! It’s one of my favourite tracks ever made.

• In your daily routine, how much time do you leave for the music?

I go to university so I’m always busy studying. Sometimes I don’t get to make any music at all for up to a week. Other times I will make music for 12 hours non stop! I try to get at least 2 hours in a day.

• Today it seems that everyone can be a dj/producer, thanks to new technologies. Do you agree?

With time, effort and dedication, anyone can become a dj/producer. It’s true that anybody can make music from the computer but it takes alot of work to make the music sound professional!

• Do you prefer some Italian producer in particular?

I really like Alex Gaudino! I knew about him before I became interested in House music.

• What is in heavy rotation on your Ipod?

Listen to a lot of mixes that people send to my soundcloud. I also like to listen to chilled out music such as Phaeleh and Bonobo.
